OOTD

Today's Outfit of the Day was inspired by the what seems to be the look of summer 2014; crop tops & high-waisted shorts! More recently I've seen a rise in the trend of body jewelry which I really like and so I purchased a body chain for myself and incorporated it into today's look. I love the effortlessness of this ensemble. The addition of a sweater even makes it wearable on chillier nights. It's simplistic and sweet and so perfect for summer.

July 4th Ensemble!

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous fourth! I couldn't have been more excited for this holiday because of the attire it calls for. So let's get right to it! Alright so starting from the bottom, I kept it rustic and American of course with my same cowboy boots from my previous look. Next a more recent purchase, a black bodycon skirt with a bold white star print, and up top, a navy blue and white striped crop-top. My light wash denim jacket completed the look, along with a few simple jewelry pieces. Where was the red? Why, on my lips of course!!

Victoria's Secret SEMI ANNUAL SALE Haul

It's always a special day when Victorias Secret decides to give us minimum wage makers a chance to stock up on our arsenal of sexy stuff, lingerie and beauty products included.  While I usually spend the majority of my time in VS fishing through a bucket of bras in an attempt to find a marked down demi, or something similar, today I was mostly fumbling through the 50% off beauty product section. Anyone who's a frequent makeup purchaser knows that if you want some decent products, you've gotta be willing to do a little spending, and with modern makeup serving so many other purposes besides just making us look good - protecting our skin from the sun, moisturizing, evening our skins tone, nourishing our faces with antioxidants - I suppose it makes since. SO with the opportunity to walk away with VS lipstick, nail-polish, skin primer, eye-shadow, and mascara at half the price, I was practically raking items into my bag without a second look. Everything I purchased is pictured and LINKED below!

TINTED MOISTURIZER/PRIMER

in "Light"

COLOR DRAMA LIPSTICK

In "True" & "Excessive"

METALLIZED EYE SHADOW

In "Petal to the Metal"

NAIL LACQUER

In "Troublemaker"

VS MASCARA

In "Blackest Black"

Here is a swatch of all the products in the order I've listed them with the exception of the mascara!

Oh one more thing... I still spent some time digging for that demi!

 PINK PUSH-UP

(My color was a combination of periwinkle and peach, however I do not see that color on the website)

Seventeen Magazine Inspired Look

No shortage of color here!  You name it, I'm probably wearing it! I've spoken about Seventeen Magazine before in a previous post, and how its many elaborately colored ensembles have inspired me to incorporate some of that same boldness into some of my own looks. I definitely think I've accomplished that here!

OOTD Inspired by Iggy Azalea

Definitely one of my favorite looks to date, here are the details of my outfit of the day! Starting with this crazy exotic skirt! When I purchased it several months ago I knew I had to have it because it completely reminded me of Iggy Azalea whose style is very body conscience and extremely colorful. The material of this skirt is quite stretchy, and allows me to walk and sit with ease. It's a very loud pattern, so I decided to wear a crisp white over-sized button up on top which I then tucked into the skirt. To accentuate my waistline, I wore a thick elastic brown belt. Simple black zip up boot heels and a few of my favorite and frequently worn jewelry pieces complete today's sassy and sultry ensemble.

Outfit of the Day

Nothing special here! Just clean, casual, and oh so comfortable. I love outfits that are on the fence between dressed up and dressed down like this one, you can almost never go wrong with them. These linen pants are so fantastic! They have the comfort of sweats with the classiness of a dress pant, and three cheers for their nude & neutral color cause you can pop just about any color you'd like with them on top. My choice today was this bold yellow top that served double duty for me today because it provided something interesting at my neckline without my having to wear a necklace. The finishing touches: my thick orange beaded bracelet, rustic rhinestone earrings, and one of my favorite pairs of bejeweled sandals. And that's that! Enjoy your holiday weekend!

Easter Ensemble

This Easter I was looking super sassy in some traditional Easter colors, and I thought I'd share this look with you all! I try to go against the customary way of dressing from time to time, and since it seems the vast majority of women wear dresses on Easter, I decided to come up with something different, which was part of the inspiration behind this look. I pulled two of my favorite tops, my light pink button up and my mint green argon sweater. Now, yes both of these pieces are long sleeved, and with one being a sweater, you might be wondering how I managed in the almost 80 degree weather. Well the button up is 97% cotton, and the sweater, %100. Cotton does breath, even in more modest garments. You'll notice I also cuffed the sleeves back, not only to keep me slightly cooler, but also as a style choice. The colors of the sweater are also a give away as to what particular season/weather it is meant to be worn. Next as a neutral against the many colors I'm wearing on top, I wore a basic white short paired with a brown belt to give separation to the two pieces. My favorite brown boots and a few simple jewelry pieces complete the look. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!
